Sequelitis: The third Gameloft title, Sons of War, is full of microtransactions, grinding and an extremely pay2win multiplayer mode compared to the previous mobile titles.Similarly, the German Paratroopers armed with FG42s in Earned in Blood are just as bad as their assault rifle-wielding counterparts.Incredibly powerful and accurate, they're even worse in Carentan and Saint-Sauveur. Demonic Spiders: In later levels in Road to Hill 30 and Earned in Blood, you will encounter Germans armed with Stg 44 assault rifles.Without playing the first two you don't know the exact circumstances surrounding those deaths so it gets rather confusing. Continuity Lockout: So much of the third game references important events like the deaths of certain characters.Best Level Ever: As difficult as it is, the titular Hell's Highway of game 3 is a visually magnificent level that really sells the impressive devastation of the battle.Is Corrion right to no longer trust in Baker, who denied him a promotion to Sergeant that was rightfully his and is becoming increasingly unfit to lead a squad due to his PTSD, especially after the truth about Leggett's death got out? Or is he just being an Ungrateful Bastard and Jerkass to a man who saved his life several times just because he didn't get the promotion he thought he deserved?.I hope that in the future to come, the 'underdog' consoles will not be neglected just because of a lower popularity.

It seems sad that, though obviously a good game, the ps2 version of which was neglected in its making.

The Xbox and PC versions of this game were more impressive indeed, as I find that all of the games made in the Xbox era that mirror the ps2 are. Team casualties in this setup is, of course, at times inevitable. If your lucky they can pull you out of a few tight positions and maybe take down a enemy or two, but at best they are nothing more then organized distraction groups so you can safely flank the enemies for yourself. This being said, though you can work around your squad's seeming stupidity, it can sometimes be a burden. And though you can still perform complex and tide-shifting maneuvers that can save you and your team on the battlefield, you have to be precise and quick to make sure your squads are maneuvered so that not only they can be effective to your offense, but less of danger to themselves. The squad based command function is fun and all, but some times it feels as though you have to compensate for your teammates lack of intelligence. The game can be pretty challenging at its best, and kinda frustration at its worst. Also, though not critical, I found the lack of a sprint option annoying. The controls can be annoying at times, and I would have preferred if I could have edited the controls to my preferences. The AI is 50/50 because, though your enemies aren't stupid, your teammates most certainly are. The graphics are nothing special, but they don't suck either. I would not have spent more money on a new game, however, since in some ways it is broken.
